Gregory Frazer, PhD, AuD, CCC-A, ABA, NBC-HIS

Director of Audiology

Dr. Gregory Frazer entered private practice Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing in 1982. For 14 years he owned and operated Hearing Care Associates, which had 23 offices and was one of the largest audiology private practices in the U.S. Dr. Frazer is a well-known clinician and teacher, and was the first audiologist to obtain dual doctorates in Audiology, both a PhD. in Audiology as well as the new Clinical Doctorate of Audiology, the AuD. He is UC San Diego/San Diego State University Adjunct Professor in Audiology 2008-Present, and Clinical Adjunct Faculty at University of Texas in Dallas 2011-present. He is Board Certified by Board for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology, and the National Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. Dr. Frazer received the Academy of Audiology Leo Doerfler Outstanding Audiologist Award 2014, the AT Still University Distinguished Service Award 2016, and the AT Still University Clinical Preceptor Award 2016. Dr. Frazer specializes in the evaluation and treatment of vertigo, dizziness and hearing and balance disorders. Dr. Frazer is experienced in working with infants, children, and adults. He is semi-fluent in Spanish and Sign Language.


Carissa Bennett, AuD, CCC-A
Audiologist and Co-Director

Dr. Carissa Bennett graduated with honors from UC Santa Barbara in Speech and Hearing Science in 1978, obtained a Masters in Audiology from the University of Washington in 1981, and an AuD in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003. She was an Audiologist at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles from 1981-1986, with an emphasis on medical-legal audiology with Aram Glorig, MD, and conducted hearing aid research with James Sheehy, MD. She entered private practice in 1986 with Dr. Gregory Frazer and co-owned and operated Hearing Care Associates. Dr. Bennett is experienced in working with infants, children, and adults, and specializes in diagnostic audiological evaluations. Dr. Bennett is Board Certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Her Hobbies are reading, music, and international cuisine.


Julie Skille, AuD

Dr. Julie Skille graduated from California State University in Northridge, CA with a double major in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies in 2004. Dr. Skille Masters degree in Audiology was also from California State University, Northridge where she graduated cum laude in 2006. Dr. Skille was awarded a Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Florida in 2010. She is Board Certified by The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, The American Academy of Audiology and is licensed with the California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board. Prior to joining Pacific Hearing, Dr. Skille worked at the House Ear Clinic as a diagnostic and dispensing audiologist. She  has extensive experience in working with infants, children and adults, and is fluent in American Sign Language. Dr. Skille enjoys outdoor  sports, gardening and travel.

Sofiya Krauss, AuD

Dr. Sofiya Krauss received her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ in 2012 and her Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ in 2007. During her graduate studies, Dr. Krauss interned at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the Children’s Rehabilitation Center where she provided treatment, rehabilitation and support services to children with disabilities. She also participated in the Barrow Children’s Cleft and Cranial Facial Center meetings where she presented numerous case studies to the foremost experts on neurological disorders. In 2012 Dr. Krauss completed her fourth year internship at Pacific Eye and Ear Specialists and joined the team as a full time Audiologist. She is a member of the  American Speech Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Krauss enjoys traveling, cooking and being outdoors.


Kathy Harlan, MA, CCC-A

Kathy earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1987 followed by a Masters in Audiology from San Diego State University in 1991. Kathy has a wealth of experience working with hearing impaired infants, children and adults in the Los Angeles area for the past 25 years, including many years with Hearing Care Associates in Northridge when she also worked with Drs Frazer and Bennett. Kathy joined with Pacific Eye and Ear Specialists since 2007. She is Board Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is licensed with the California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board, and she is semi-fluent in Spanish. Kathy and her family enjoy all water sports, especially water skiing and scuba diving.


Sheila Shalom, AuD

Dr. Sheila Shalom received her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T Still University in Mesa, AZ in 2018. Her clinical experiences include rotations at a variety of settings such as the renowned Mayo Clinic of Arizona. As the Academy of Audiology Student President for her program, she led numerous volunteer opportunities and enhanced awareness in the hearing health community. She attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for her undergraduate degree where she graduated cum laude in 2013. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Shalom is very passionate about the field of audiology and this passion is reflected in the care of her patients. Dr. Shalom enjoys playing sports, spending time with her family, and cooking.


Grace McManus, AuD

Dr. Grace McManus graduated from the University of the Pacific, with a Bachelor Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2016. She also obtained her Doctorate in Audiology at the University of the Pacific’s San Francisco campus in 2019. During her graduate studies, Dr. McManus interned at Kaiser Permanente and Stanford. She also provided volunteer audiology services with Entheos Audiology Cooperative in South Africa, and hopes to continue to participate in future trips. In 2018, Dr. McManus completed her doctoral externship at Pacific Hearing Inc, where she continues to practice. Dr McManus is a member of the American Academy of Audiology. She has extensive experience in working with infants, children, and adults. She is fluent in sign language, and enjoys running, traveling, hiking, eating, and spending time with family and friends.
