Dr. Reginald “Reggie” Arevalo graduated from University of California, Riverside in 2013 with a double major in French and Linguistics, received his Post-Baccalaureate in Communicative Disorders from State University of New York, New Paltz in 2017, and obtained his doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from San Diego State University and University of California, San Diego in 2022.

During his graduate studies, Dr. Arevalo interned at University of California, San Diego: Head and Neck Surgery Department where he trained in vestibular diagnostics, cochlear implants, osseo integrated hearing devices and intraoperative neuromonitoring. He also observed cochlear implantation, stapedectomies, and acoustic neuroma resection among other otologic surgeries. Dr. Arevalo also interned at Newport Mesa Audiology Balance and Ear Institute where he trained and excelled in vestibular diagnostics and therapy. Dr. Arevalo completed his 4th year extern/resident at Pacific Hearing and Balance Inc. where he is assisted in establishing a cochlear implant program and a hearing aid donation program.

Highly interested in research, Dr. Arevalo conducted his doctoral project in collaboration with the Navy Medical Center of San Diego, The Geneva Institute and Northern Arizona University. His doctoral project which explored hearing difficulties in aircraft refueling specialists with noise and jet fuel exposure, resulted in professional accolades from the California Academy of Audiology in 2020 and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2020.

Dr. Arevalo’s clinical interests include vestibular health, implantable hearing devices and hearing health disparities.

In his free time, Dr. Arevalo likes trying new restaurants and cafes and listening to suspense-thriller fiction audiobooks. Most of all, Dr. Arevalo enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
