Widex Hearing Aids
Christian Tøpholm, a gifted electronics engineer, and Erik Westermann, a successful businessman, combined their talents in 1956 in order to establish Widex hearing aids. Working together at Oticon from 1949 to 1955, the company’s production rose tenfold while exports increased from 20% to 90% – successes they used to produce the Widex 561, an elegant pocket model hearing aid released in mid-1956.
Building upon their early success, the company’s exacting standards in research, development and manufacturing, a commitment to delivering innovative technology, the establishment of long-term partnerships with hearing care providers, and a “passion for sound” were continuously applied to the production of Widex hearing aids.
The development of one of the most advanced AI sound engines on the market helped launch Widex into a role of innovative leadership in the 21st century. Innovative technologies related to personalization capabilities and seamless integration with other digital technology have bolstered the Widex reputation in the hearing aid industry.
The Widex brand merged with Sivantos in 2019 to form the WS Audiology Group, making it the third largest hearing aid manufacturer in the world.

Widex Processing Technology
Rechargeable batteries and easy personalization are among the standard features included with each Widex hearing aid. In combination with connectivity capabilities and Widex Zen Therapy, which uses iPhone and Android device connectivity to deliver white noise and other sound masking to assist with tinnitus management, users can achieve better hearing than ever before.
Using the TeamViewer app in conjunction with connectivity capabilities, users are able to receive programming adjustments, get tech support and troubleshooting, and/or receive counseling from their hearing care provider or the manufacturer from any location with an internet connection.
