Mathilde Tranberg

Cochlear Implant Outreach Ambassador

Mathilde was born profoundly deaf, and she received her first cochlear implant in Denmark when she was two years old. Four years later, she received her second cochlear implant in Sweden.

Mathilde shares that cochlear implants opened up a world of communication, connection, and opportunity for her. They empowered her to become a Division I college tennis athlete, earn a psychology degree from Long Beach State University, and to now use her voice to help others on their own cochlear implant journey.

At Pacific Hearing, Mathilde strives to be a resource, guide, and support system for patients navigating the world of hearing loss and cochlear implants. Her firsthand experience and personal achievements are testament to how transformative this technology can be.

Mathilde would love to connect with anyone who is considering cochlear implants, those with new implants, or individuals who are further along in their journey. Whether in person or via Zoom, Mathilde is happy help patients in any way she can.

She also hosts a free weekly lipreading class every Wednesday, and everyone is welcome! According to Mathilde, these sessions are a fantastic way to build confidence in lipreading skills while connecting with others in a supportive environment. (Simply reach out to her at the office if you’re interested in attending.)
